My name is Angeline Chia. I live and work in Regina which is on Treaty 4 territory in Saskatchewan, Canada. I am an immigrant from Southeast Asia of mixed Asian and European heritage (Eurasian).
I am a Qualified Administrator of the IDI and an ICF-certified leadership coach. I have been engaging with intercultural competence since 2008. I discovered it while writing a research paper for a Master of Education degree in Human Resources Development. After completing this degree, I participated in intercultural training, while working for a non-profit organization, that included the IDI and I implemented a personal intercultural development plan based on my IDI results. Through this process, I became aware of improvements in my ability to bridge cultural differences, communicate more appropriately with my co-workers and clients, and achieve my goals.
In 2016, I attended a Qualifying Seminar offered by IDI LLC to become a licensed QA, took the IDI again, and formally noted my improvement in intercultural competence. That same year, because of my positive personal and professional experience with the IDI, I founded a consulting practice, Sights on Success Consulting, to offer IDI assessment and debrief as well as intercultural development services such as coaching and workshops. Since then, I have engaged successfully with several organizations and used the IDI in group assessments and debriefs. These organizations include government, non-profit, and small business. I have also used the IDI in assessments and debriefs for individuals of various professional backgrounds, some of whom have completed coaching programs that I developed for them, that resulted in improvement in their intercultural competence as measured by the IDI.
In summary, I offer programs in intercultural development to teams and individuals, in person and virtually, that include the IDI.
