Jamilah Scott

Manager of Culturally Responsive Education at Denver Public Schools

About

I am Jamilah Scott, and I am the Manager of Culturally Responsive Education. I was born and raised on the southside of Chicago and am a proud product of Chicago Public Schools (Murray Language Academy and Kenwood Academy). As a child, I was fortunate to be placed in academic environments where my identities, intelligence, and ability to thrive were affirmed and nurtured daily. I received a world-class and culturally responsive K12 education, before there was a collective language for it. My educational experiences drive my passion and belief in what is possible for ALL children in our schools. I received my bachelor’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University and my master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I also have a CELTA Cambridge certification for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, as well as Restorative Justice Practitioner & Coordinator certifications. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Education Leadership and Policy Studies at University of Denver. I am able to offer a wide range of supports for organizations, schools, districts, and corporations of all sizes and structures.
